The ending was necessary. The writer stacked on too many mini arcs. This usually means that he didn't know where to go with the actual story. It shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone that this ending had to come.

That said. The ending was AWFUL. That's a real problem that Weekly Jump mangas have; they can't get the best ending in unless they've made it all the way to the planned ending. So, the unplanned ending comes with poor results. Kinda sad, really.

we want v2.0!!! man, i kinda prefer rito doing something bad to lala, lala refuses staying with rito, and haruna gets her man... anything but this... TT_TT

They should have just had a time-skip with rito ruling the universe and his women all around him

Shame they didn't give them a few more chapters to give it a decent ending. But after the series overall, I'd look forward to more from the artist, but I can't say the same for the author.

March 2009, Shiho demanded a divorce on the grounds of personality clash and a large chunk of Yabuki's assets, but when the evidence of her infidelity was discovered on her computer, she then changed her stance and demanded money in exchange for the custody right of the daughter. - Realizing it would take over a year to settle things, Yabuki accepted her conditions and got the daughter back. - Haruna Sairenji was based on Kashiwagi Shiho, and there is a reason why her role was reduced dramatically since volume 13, and Yui getting more prominent. And apparently Shiho has sued/demanded more money for the character of Haruna recently. - A comment of Yabuki's while this was all happening: [While I was working hard on a manga that was focused on taking young girls' panties off, another man was taking my wife's panties off.] EDIT: I forgot to mention that following the dispute over Haruna's character right, Yabuki feared his daughter getting hurt by all the debacle, so he accepted Shiho's demand yet again and ended the series prematurely. Yes, life can be so sordid sometimes.

Humans can be so inhumane sometimes. The ending didn't nearly seem like an ending that was appropriate, but on mangafox.com some threads gave some other reasons. By no means did it seem like it would end like this, but its a shame. I thought Black Cat was good, so I was looking forward to To-Love-Ru, but I guess that's done with. Will have to keep an eye out for more works by the author and artist of it.
